I knwo the deadline for this was Feb. 1… but I’m an international and I didn’t want to lower my chances of acceptance by applying for FA… plus with some scholarhip, the cost seemed payable. But recently our family had many financial issues, and on the website where you check your appliation status, I noticed you could change whether you would apply for FA or not. I’m thinking of applying for FA now ( i know… very late)… but do you think it’s possible?? Would they still accept CSS at this time, and even if they don’t, would that fact that i decided to apply for FA late affect my chances of acceptance?

The tardiness is not going to affect your chances of acceptance. One of two things MIGHT happen, though.

1) They aren’t need blind, so, depending on how much they like you, they might not look upon the request for FA favorably.

or

2) They might have already allocated the available international FA to all the needy acceptees.

I wish you good luck, though. Do tell us how things go. :)

I think you should just copy what you wrote above and send them on an email. Or even call them if you can… No harm in asking, plus you’ll have all your doubts sorted…
Hope you get in! :)

I am pretty sure that once the deadline is passed, you can’t apply. (If you were an American citizen, you can apply after the deadline and qualify for Stafford loans, but not for institutional money.)

And because Brown is need aware for internationals, needing financial aid could affect the admissions decision.
