Daughter is agonizing over whether or not to send her SAT scores. She is ranked 11/270, mostly A's with a few B's in all honors/AP courses, well rounded, etc.

Took SAT's twice as a junior, once as a senior. Her best scores are 650CR, 670M, and 740W. Even though colleges count your best scores, she's worried about the college seeing her lesser scores (lows were 590CR, 640M, 650W).

Personally, I don't think she should not worry about her lower scores, but in my mind the question is: are her best scores good enough to submit?

I think her best scores are good enough to submit.

Also, you can call the admissions office and ask if they only count the highest score. I really don't think Mount Holyoke will care about the lowest score. They de-emphasize the SAT, as you know. The only thing it matters for at all is our SAT average for incoming students, and since her highest scores will only positively contribute to that average, I think submitting them can only help. You should call though. The people in admissions are very nice and will be honest with you.

Ah, thanks for asking this. I've been "agonizing" myself about my own SATs, which are high 600s to middle 700s (one sitting), so this is a great question!

Another one: Does MHC care about SAT II scores? I have Math I 690, World History 710, Literature 740, and U.S. History 800. The numbers of those look good (to me, anyway) but I'm pretty sure some of the percentiles weren't very impressive. Do they look at percentiles as a factor, too, or just the actual score?

(I hope this doesn't count as thread hijacking--I figured my question was in the same vein as the OP's, but if it's a problem, I'm sorry).

Thanks to all--you have confirmed my suspicions, that they are perfectly good, and that not sending them plants a seed in MHC's mind that perhaps they aren't sent because they are quite a bit lower.
