Hi all,

Wondering, does Stanford allow you to submit supplement materials, such as a website, or youtube videos or many some of your small projects etc?

Hi all,

Wondering, does Stanford allow you to submit supplement materials, such as a website, or youtube videos or many some of your small projects etc?

I emailed them about submitting a supplemental video, and they told me (and it says in their application guide: http://www.stanford.edu/dept/uga/pdf/11-12_Applying_Guide.pdf) that they don’t accept hardcopy supplementary materials, unless it’s an arts supplement.

They simply said to place any links (such as to Youtube) into the “appropriate section of the online application.” I took that to mean that I should submit them in the optional information section of the Common App.

Frankly, I don’t understand why Stanford is so uptight about this stuff. Harvard, Princeton, and Rice all accept hardcopy materials, and at the least Harvard has more applications to comb through than does Stanford. Oh well though.

My short answer: No, not hardcopy. I would send links via the Common App.
