Does anyone know anything about the substance free dorm? Do people like living there?

I am curious too… HUMA 1600 or Substance-free dorms…which one is better?

D signed up yesterday HUMA 1600 and to live with the group. She had heard good things about it. She doesn’t smoke or drink so was considering the substance free dorm but we never found anything out about it.

Heard there is a substance free dorm for freshmen and another for upperclassmen. Anyone know how these differ from HUMA/Affinity dorms?

What is HUMA?

HUMA 1600 in posts above. Look up ‘You’ve Got Options’ on website, looks like accelerated required Freshman English/Humanities I think, where you take it in one semester instead of 2.

Option 2
Readings in Western Culture (HUMA 1600)

Trinity’s flagship course in the history of Western ideas is one of the most rewarding offerings on campus. The course includes readings from Homer to Dante, beginning with the epic tradition and concluding with the Christian reception of the ancient world.
Unique among First-Year Seminar offerings, HUMA 1600 fulfills both the First-Year Seminar and Writing Workshop requirements in your first semester in a single six-hour course. It features weekly lectures from experts across Trinity and other universities and lays a foundation for further exploration of the humanities at Trinity. Participants may also choose to join an affiliated residential learning community that allows students to live with others sharing similar interests and reading and discussing the same books. If you wish to live in this optional residence hall, you must select the HUMA 1600 option on your housing form, accessible via Tiger’s Lair portal. This form is due May 15.
Course enrollment is strictly limited to 105 students and filled on a first-come, first-served basis (Affinity Hall optional).
