i had an amazing experience with an overnigh on campus.

just wanted to let everyone know that i had an overnight stay at Trinity and LOVED it....

heres what i did:
attended two classes (oceanography, and classic roman studies)
toured the chemistry department
had lunch with a student
met with the soccer coach
toured campus
met up with my host and our night consisted of: getting settled in the dorms (which are HUGE by the way), getting dinner in the dining hall, seeing a hilarious student-written play, going to desert off campus, watching a movie and hanging out with some first-years, partying in the dorms.

sooo... overall my stay was incredible and really put trinity at the top my college list.

i dont want to go into enormous detail if no one is going to read this lol, but if anyone has questions about what i thought of certain aspects of campus (the food? the social scene? the facilities?) just ask :)

I'm curious about the amount of studying you saw students doing vis a vis partying and what night you spent. Did it seem like it was well balanced? Was the partying mid-week or weekend? Thanks for the report!

i saw students studying everywhere i went lol
mostly in the library (which has a nice coffee shop in it)
and in various places all over campus (there is grass, fountains, and little gardens tucked away specifially for studying).

as for parties... i didnt go to a big one that night because all the greeks were pledging and so they were busy with that. my host said that most of the big parties are put on by the frats but anyone can go. i was there on a thursday night and it seemed like not alot of people were partying, and if there were, it was in their hall (like we did).

my host explained to me that there is NO pressure whatsoever to drink or do drugs and that there are plently of people who go to the parties and stay sober and still have a great time. i would bet there is some type of party (frat or just in a dorm with friends) almost every night. so i think if your looking for school with a good party scene or it doesnt really appeal to you... trinity is good for all!

When you say "I would bet that there is some type of party almost every night." That makes me wonder about noise levels and kids being able to sleep during the week. I know that for many students at many schools, the weekend starts on Thursday night but did you get a sense of what Sunday-Wednesdays were like? Thank you for telling us about your visit.

i bet sunday through wednesday is pretty quiet (and your right about the weekend starting on a thursday). i got the idea that there might be a couple of hard partyers that still drink in their dorm on the other nights. but even on a thursday i had no trouble getting to bed, the noise was fine.
