Substance-free housing?

Does GWU have substance-free housing? I've been searching on the website for a while but can't seem to find anything on it...If anyone knows and could tell me, that would be great!

My gut tells me no, but I haven't researched this topic.

I do know that drugs/alcohol tend to be less problematic at urban campuses... more things to do that don't involve drinking than being stuck in a cornfield. Not sure about GW, but I bet it's less of a "problem" than some places.

Check out a GU college *******, sometimes they give inside info on that stuff.

Sorry *GWU

Officially all housing is 'substance free'...but in reality that's not true.

To answer your question, there is no "designated" substance free housing. With that said, each dorm tends to have its own take on drinking/drugs. For example, the biggest freshman dorm, Thurston, is party central. The smaller dorms (Madison, Crawford, Lafayette, Potomac) tend to party only on the weekends. From what I hear, it's A LOT harder to do anything on the Mount Vernon Campus so maybe that would be more up your alley.

Hope that helped - and please, don't not let the lack of substance-free housing scare you. My roommate doesn't drink/smoke do anything like that but she still goes out to frat parties and clubs and has an awesome time. People understand if you don't want to drink.
