such a bad dream

i woke up today, and really thought that i had been rejected by columbia and penn, wow!!!!, i was so relieved that it was only a dream

this stuff really needs to come to an end soon

There are certain applicants for whom little deliberation is required, since they are sure-admits; be glad, bball, for you are one of them...

...provided you did not do anything stupid.

I do not think you could call anyone a sure admit to Columbia, where there acceptance rate is 8 percent. Especially if they didn't get into these schools just a year ago- looking back on old posts there were people with equally as impressive numbers, if not more impressive, who did not get into Columbia as transfers.

to clarify, i appreciate the support nspeds, i do not consider myself a sure admit for nothing....

except for a few places that i got into last year, like i feel like i am close to a sure admit to a place like Rice and Chicago

timberland, when u say ppl w. more impressive #s, sure curious wat do u mean, higher GPAs?

my first semester GPA (3.6) definetely could be my archille's heel, but I hope that I obliterated any doubts with a mid-semester GPA of 3.895 with 17 credits at cornell

There are always sure-admits, no matter how selective the school is. The only problem, from our end, is in identifying who they are.

Now when I say 'sure-admits,' I mean that the admissions committees actively rank applicants as such. I know several admissions officers who have substantiated this claim.
