Suggest me some schools!

The school must: Not be more than $30,000 tuition out-of-state (I live in Indiana) and it must have an Army ROTC program. It must have a decent polisci/history program.

My stats:
4.1 (wgpa) 3.7 (uwgpa)
Top 10%
2000 SAT

German Club
French Club
Boy Scouts (was a Patrol Leader)
Muay Thai Practicioner (sp?)
Hospital Volunteer
Recreational Baseball
National Honor Society

I heard Indiana is doable with my stats and has a decent program. Can anyone suggest some other schools that I would be capable of getting into with the requirements stated above?

Alabama…

[University of Alabama ROTC](http://bama.ua.edu/~armyrotc/)

Army ROTC Scholarships

Whether you’re a college-bound high school student or already attending a college or university, Army ROTC has scholarships available. Scholarships are awarded based on a student’s merit and grades, not financial need.

Army ROTC scholarships consist of:

Two-, three-, and four-year scholarship options based on the time remaining to complete your degree

Full-tuition scholarships
The option for room and board in place of tuition, if you should qualify

Additional allowances for books and fees

Living Expenses
Army ROTC scholarships also provide monthly living allowances for each school year. You can earn certain amounts depending on your level in the Army ROTC curriculum:

1st year, $300 per month
2nd year, $350 per month
3rd year, $450 per month
4th year, $500 per month

This allowance is also available to all non-scholarship Cadets enrolled in the Army ROTC Advanced Course (3rd and 4th years).

Thanks! Alabama was a school I was definitely considering. It looks like they have a solid ROTC program, too.

Any other school suggestions? I’m just trying to see if there is any opportunities I may have overlooked.

Get your app in…housing choices are better for those who apply/deposit early.

Aren’t your stats a little high for Alabama? You might be able to get into a more prestigious university with your SAT/GPA combo. I wouldn’t settle for Alabama.

What schools are you considering?

If you like military “college-life” without it being 100% of the time like the academies, consider Virginia Tech. Their Corps of Cadets is fun. Many officers come from there.

The main schools I’m looking at now are Purdue and Indiana just because they are in-state. I’m also considering Virginia Tech’s and Texas A&M’s Corps of Cadets. UT Austin is the only non-Corps OOS school I’m looking at.

*Aren’t your stats a little high for Alabama? *

His stats are not “too high” for Alabama.

I’m not saying that he couldn’t get into a more prestigious U, but to imply that an ACT 30 is too high for Bama is ridiculous. Bama ranking is the same as American U, Mich St, and Baylor. None of these schools are “too low” for an ACT 30.

My kids have much higher stats and their classes at Bama are very challenging.
