hi! i want to major in finance/business administration. my sat score is 1950 and my gpa is 4.0.

some of my extra curricular are the ff:
- class president (for four years)
- yearbook committee
- varsity in school
- volunteer at two orphanages
- photographer for school events and the school paper

anybody know good business schools in the east coast that i would hopefully get accepted to? thanks!

You were class president for 4 years? Were you home schooled?

You say you’re parents are backing you up on all college fees. Are they prepared to pay up to $250,000 for 4 years at most privates?

There are many good business schools in the east. Let’s try to narrow it down. Do you prefer urban/rural, large/small, intense/chill, etc.? Any preference on weather, greek life, sports?

If you google top undergraduate business schools, you will get the US News list, the Bloomberg list, and various other. That’s your starting point. Then figure out your criteria for choosing a school (chard’s list).

Yes! I’m not homeschooled, my school elects a president and a vice president per grade level.

Yes, they’re fine with paying for everything as long as I’m in a ‘good business school’.

I’m more into the urban area with a lot of students. Also, I’d rather be in between ‘intense and chill’, if you get it. I don’t really have a preference on the weather, greek life and sports. I’m more concerned with the major (I’m looking at finance, business administration and economics)

seeking more clarification: what does “varsity in school” mean?

Right now I’d say you’re too far from “narrowing down” for me to be able to help you. As noted, there are dozens of good eastern business schools who would take someone 4.0/1950, and there are probably a dozen or more who likely wouldn’t. So if you can narrow this down yourself…ask us about specific schools, I might be able to help.

Check out Georgetown, Boston College, NYU, Villanova, University of Richmond, and Wake Forest. These East Coast schools are among the Bloomberg top 20 undergraduate business programs. They are selective, but your stats are good enough that you should have a shot at any of them.

Other possibilities:
Boston University, Northeastern, Fordham, Loyola University MD, American University, University of Miami, George Washington. These are urban, East Coast schools in the Bloomberg top 75.

You should consider Emory (both our College of Arts and Sciences and our Oxford College). At Oxford, for example, you’d be around the 50th percentile in SAT. You’d attend either for two years before applying to the Goizueta Business School.
