Hey guys I'm a freshman (almost sophmore) who really wants to make it into an Ivy league

I have not taken the SAt or the ACT yet,
But I do have a 4.0 unweighted GPA.
I also have not taken any AP's but I am panning on taking A.P Bio and A.P. Enviormental Science as a sophmore.

I also started rowing competively this year, and although I am not very good, I am planning to work to try to acheive some type of athletic recruitment to any of the Ivy Leagues as I am not a minority, rich, or poor.

I have been doing Indian classical dance for 8 years but I am afraid to say that because I have heard of the Asian discrimination at Harvard and the likes

I also do DECA and am part of a Navy cadet program, and I go to a STEM School (public school) where it is HIGHLY competitive with 99% asians lololololol

I really want to be an eye surgeon so any suggestions to help me achieve my dreams and goals in the next 3 years will be MUCH appreciated!!!

Too early come back junior year.

I am not aware of admissions for US students (I’m an international Indian student).

I’m here only to tell you NOT TO HIDE your talent in Indian Classical Dance. You will indeed have better chances with such activities that can showcase your special talents taking you ahead of at least a bunch of applicants.

I guess they will however get to know your race/ethnicity by reading other parts of your application. So, let the adcoms know about your dance!

Stay off CollegeConfidential. Get a 2400 on the SAT and perfect on your subject tests. Win Intel/Siemens. Keep a 4.0. Take 10+ APs, IBs, or courses above that (Physics III, multi-variable calculus, bio classes beyond AP, etc.) by the end of 11th grade with 7s/5s on all exams. Self-study some APs, fill-in whatever you haven’t taken that’s relevant to your major. Make it to the AP Literature course in your foreign language by the end of junior year Try to place at high level competition at DECA. FBLA is good as well; it is really uncompetitive, so it’s extremely easy to get national-level awards in that, too. Just don’t waste any time that could be spent more productively—on research and such. Participate in USABO and AMC exams. Make it to a high level.

Say the Indian classical dance thing. If they’ll know your ethnicity from your name, don’t bother hiding it. It’s discrimination in the traditional, racist sense. You’re just competing against other Asians for a smaller number of slots. It’s inappropriate, but not what you are making it sound like.

It’s too early to worry about chances, but it’s not early—it’s actually a little late—for this.
