Sophomore Ivy League Chances

Hi I'm an Asian sophomore and I was wondering what my chances for admission are for the Ivy League, Stanford, etc. if I continue at this rate and win more awards. Here is what I have so far:

Disadvantaged backbround (less than 30k)
Currently 1/393 at public high school
Unweighted GPA: 4.0 Weighted GPA: 4.5320

Prior to High school:
Honors Beginning Algebra
Honors Intermediate Algebra
Honors Precalculus with Trigonometry

Freshmen Year:
Honors English A/A
Honors Geometry A/A
Honors Biology A/A
French 1 A/A
Intro to Business A
P.E. 9 A

Sophomore after 1st Semester:
American Studies Honors (English) A
American Studies Honors (History) A
A.P. Calculus AB Honors A
P.E. 10 A
Chemistry Honors A
French 3 Honors (tested out of french II) A
Intro. to Art A

Currently:

Same schedule except with AP Statistics and Health instead of Art and P.E.

Extracurricular activities/awards:

Volunteering at library (9,10)
Math League (9,10) Top 10 Divisional Scoring Leaders, scoring team
Knowledge Masters (9,10) Participation Award
DECA (9, missed the dang deadline) Top 8 District Finishers
Northern Stars Leadership Conference

So far, I've only taken the PLAN.
Scores:
English 26
Math 29
Reading 24
Science 22
Composite 25

I plan to take AP Calculus AB, AP Statistics and SAT IIC by the end of this academic school year. Unlike the "typical Asian applicant" I am NOT a musical genius nor a math genius (I only got 89 points on the AMC 12).

but your still an overachiever.

Oh I forgot to mention, I will also be a 1st generation college student. Please be honest. I can take it, I promise!

It's nice too see that your interested in college at the Soph. level. I think you have a chance at any school, especially with your solid grades and laundary list of EC's. But I think you didn't post for me to tell you how wonderful your application is, but to give it constructive criticism. I think that your doing the best you can do given the situation, your ethnicity. Asians/ Pacific Islanders, being as smart as they are, only make up 6% of the Ivy league student body. While you are unable to change your ethnicity, you can change your future. I am aware that the Asian population is one of the leading minority groups in Ivy league apps. I believe you are going to need STELLER EC's, (Intel, DuPont, etc...) Remarkable SAT's, and just something that will separate your from the student body.

On that word, I will remind you...
STOP FRETING ABOUT GRADES AND HAVE SOME FUN, Your only 16 ONCE!!!

You look like the average asian student. Two things you need to do
1) Raise your ACT scores to at least 30 for each subject area
2)Chill Out
One thing you could do - Learn to play a sport that would seem unusaul and try to get to at least the junior varsity level (i.e. basketball, footbal or baseball but NO TENNIS)

well I guess, I do martial arts in my free time, but not with a club or anything. I'm interested in the ancient shaolin martial arts, but qualified instructors are extremely difficult to find. Also, I was just wondering, how am I fretting/freaking out? To everyone that has replied: Thank You! I really appreciate your replies!

Co11egehopfu1- what's DuPont?

oh some science competition... I thought u may have done it

First, I said to do an unusaul sport. That does not include martial arts. Think about it this way - Who do you primarily see in your martial arts classes. I may be making a generalization here but you probably see mostly asians and whites. Therefore, martial arts won't be that much of a hook for you.

yeah join a sport or something. and a 25 on the plan??? damn dude i got a 30 and im WHITE. what's up with you?

The PLAN science portion was incredibly easy so possibly try to improve on your chart reading and graph analysis.

Try to bring up your PLAN scores on your ACT which I'm sure you will be able to do.

I'd prefer if you would clarify your statements so I can answer you properly.

It's too early to tell. See if you can keep your GPA up and come back after you take the SATs. Christ.

you should take the PSAT now, and the SAT next year, although i'm sure you'll do find on it considering your out-of-control grades. The only thing oyu may want to work on is your extra curriculars. You should join another club (french club, maybe) and take a leadership position. Also, you should try a sport- track is good for those who aren't athletic because you can train and develop your running skills with no natural-born talent.

thanks LaFawnDuh- I think I'll try track out in the spring.

In addition, thanks to everyone that has bothered replying. I know it's a long shot with the mediocre PLAN scores, but I'll work on it. I know it's early, but I want to do everything that I can to maximize my chances which is why this thread may seem a bit obnoxious.

You've got a good attitude so it should be alright.
