Hi everyone! I'm an international applicant (I'm Belgian) and I applied to Brown, Harvard, UChicago, Amherst and Dartmouth a few months ago. I made my application on a bit of a whim and am now beginning to realise that it's extremely likely that I won't get accepted at any of them.

I've been looking for a good list of colleges that accept late applications, but haven't found anything really useful yet. Ideally I'm looking for a fairly competitive college (I was top of my class upon graduation, I have quite a few extra curriculars and an SAT score of 2180) - but then again, I know I've been aiming too high with my previous applications.

One really important factor for me is financial aid; I won't be able to afford it without a lot of help.

If anyone has any recommendations or a link to a good, easily searchable list that would be greatly appreciated - or am I definitely too late (for this year)? Many thanks in advance!

You may just be too late for this year for financial aid. There are a lot of colleges who don’t announce that they take late apps but certainly consider them when they come in. But the aid available at that point may be limited or exhausted.

If there are specific schools you’re interested in, call them up and ask if they’d consider an application this late and if there would be any opportunity for financial aid for such a late app. If they say no, don’t waste the money on the app fee. If they say they’ll consider it, then give it a shot.

How much aid do you need? How much will your family pay?

Usually only the best schools give lots of need-based aid to int’ls…even when you apply on time…and they’re hard to get acceptd to. At this point, none of those schools are likely accepting apps.

There might be some that would give you merit scholarships, but your family would still have to cover a good portion.
