I took 3 subject tests and wasn't really satisfied with my scores. I want to take 2 tests (either repeating 2 or 2 new ones, or one old/one new, you get the idea) in Nov.

An idea of my academic background: I always do well in history, english and french. I took tests in all 3 and didn't score quite what I wanted (although most of my friends were impressed. Ah, CC, you're really getting to me! I've been infected!). I've never been particularly good at math, but consistent practice has raised my SAT score by 100 points since my first real SAT. Science is not my thing, and I've never been in a really advanced science class.

Any thoughts?

What exactly were your scores? Perhaps you made a mistake on that haha.

But I’ll be taking chem, USH, WH, and Math II. The fact that you’ve never even been in an advanced science course would force me to say that a science SAT II would be out of reach, but you should definitely retry the history one. Was it just a mistake in not knowing stuff or the format? It can be worked out. The English based SAT II’s like literature are extremely difficult anyway.

Try Math II though, better curves and stuff. With good practice, it should work out.

Which history test did you take? I remember scoring quite well on the USH test. I have no idea what WH is like.

I did USH. I didn’t take the AP class, though (self-studied), so maybe that would have helped. I think it was more that than anything; I was coming fresh off of the AP (so I was pretty used to writing essays when I probably should have been more focused on multiple choice). In addition, I didn’t feel like my regular class covered a lot of what was on the test; at least time wasn’t an issue! I could probably improve that score with some concerted studying.

Math II is a possibility, but I’d like to practice a little more before I feel confident in my ability to do really well.

I’ve been thinking language with listening, since a) I’ll be doing these in November and b) I’m generally pretty good with listening exercises. Plus, good AP prep. Any thoughts on the listening tests?

Ignore. Double post!
