suggestions for Undergrad Business Schools??

Purdue and Cornell are public.

Cornell public?? o_O

CALS is one of Cornell's public schools.

Do you want to go into hotel management? If not then apply to AEM instead of hotel management.

@Venkat89 and FellowCCviewer
huh interesting, I always assumed that their management school is their "Business School", well hotel management was one of my choices..... International Business and Marketing is what I'm going after though, so how does AEM stack up with hotel management in terms of 1. prestige 2. admissions (easy or not to get into.) and for AEM (3. how easy it is to get into wall street or a fortune 500 corporation after undergrad. Thanks for all replys!)

bump...................

You can do "business" in many different varieties at Cornell:

1) AEM -- Accredited business degree. Finance. Management. Accounting. Etc. Probably a top 10-15 program in the country in terms of student quality and educational opportunities. BusinessWeek rated it number four, to the chagrin of many. Focus on finance and consumer products. Lots of students go to the Street or take great positions in companies like P&G or Johnson & Johnson.

2) Hotel Management -- Top hospitality education in the world.

3) ILR -- Roughly 30-40 percent of students go into consulting or human resources management. "People side of business" -- . School is also known for having a lot of government policy wonks as well activists/socialists/Wobblies.

4) Engineering school. Honestly, if I really wanted to go into business as a Cornell student, I would become an engineer. The world is your oyster with a Cornell engineering degree and a business-oriented personality.

5) Economics in Arts, PAM in Human Ecology, etc.

Explore all of the different options, and figure out which one is the best fit.

Here's something I just randomly came across:

Undergrad B-School Rankings: Interactive Table

^^^^

Those are ranking from '06.

UC Berkeley's Haas has a good business undergrad program.

I have a question about Cornell's AEM. I have the impression that it focuses a lot of the agrimanagement/courses related to agriculture/food/etc. True?

@deerpark, ED usually does help, however someschools have a accept deny policy meanign no defering and no placement in RD. SO make up your mind before you make your decision and
@sushifreak.. I have no idea, I think you should ask cayuga red about that.
@everyone else Thanks for Replying!

You can focus on it, and it is one of the program's strengths. But most students never take a course in those areas.

If someone doesn't get in ED, there's no way in hell they would've gotten in RD.

Actually UM has actually deffered people then, accepted them regular decision after comparing them to the RD pool. I really can't speak for other schools however I am sure plenty of schools put the defered ED students in their RD pool.

I'd say your cap is Tepper too. Wharton/MIT won't accept you lol. Intel's really really really really nice...but you're a business major?

Yah, those grades won't cut it. But CMU Tepper is incredible, iono where you hear those rumors from. Quickly one of the rising business colleges in the nation with Ivy-esque acceptance rates for business.

Also, Purdue??? LOLOLOLOLOL. Indiana-Bloomington>>>>>>>>>>>>Purdue. Without even trying. Come on man. By the way, you should put down bloomington as your safety. Top 10 business school with relatively cheap tuition OOS.

But...i'm pretty sure you'll get into michigan since you're in-state, which is like a top 5 business program in the nation. So you're alright hahaha.

bump.............. thanks for all replies!
