Suggestions for Vocal Perf - nurturing

Thank you all for such great advice! I can’t use anything I learned the first time around with D1, since they have such difference passions, so I felt at a loss as to where to start. Now I feel like I can help her plan this out much better.
First - get through SAT’s and AP Theory test! But, I’ll start emailing local schools where we can be flexible date wise (WCC, Mason Gross, Rowan), and then plan Upstate and NE trips later this spring. After that, if she wants, we can head to Ohio.
I know no one has mentioned Rowan on this thread, but they are actually developing their voice program, and the Choral Director was the NJ AllState director last year. My daughter thought that working with him was amazing, so I figured it was at least worth a drive by.
Thanks again, and we’ll keep you posted. Of course, I’ll still happily take suggestions if people want to throw them at me, But I really wanted to say thanks now to all the great posts so far.

Left this out - the director is Z. Randall Stroope. A lot of choirs perform his compositions, and her favorite pieces were the ones he composed.

Oops - Scratch Rowan off the list. I should really not worry as much about my kid as I do - I’m always surprised that she’s tougher than we give her credit for. Her college and post college friends said “not good enough”. She came home last night with the names of some voice teachers she wants to contact at WCC, so I think she’s starting to move this on her own. Hooray!!!

BeesMom - As I have posted before, my D is a soph MT at WCC and has been extremely happy with her dicision. If it is possible to describe an environment that is both nuturing and demanding at the same time, I think this would fit for Westminster!
