so...yeah that was long and ugly, but some suggestions would really help!

I'm not sure but the only assured programs can only guarantee you to be accepted into medical school. Going into one of those specialties depend on your performance at your medical school.

ohh ok, well, how about any 6-8 yr programs for becomign a physician?

Don't make a decision like this just to avoid one standardized test. That's ridiculous.

Patelbhai,

Realistically speaking, your SAT score of 2100 is too low to get in Brown regular Bachelors program, leave aside BA/MD at Brown PLME. For Brown PLME, you need SAT >2330.

I suggest checking out the PLME2007 official list. You will get an idea of the stats of accepted students.

GPA of 4.5? Colleges do not accepted weighted GPAs. They look at only the unweighted GPAs to ensure similar standards are applied across all applicants.

Regarding Specialities - it's way too early for you to make an educated judgement about this issue. When you are in med school, you may completely change your mind. There are plenty of posts on this issue in archives.

You should only concentrate at this point on getting accepted in a good program. You can worry about specialization when you have completed your Bachelors + 2 more years of med school at the minimum.

Reviewing your ECs, I think you have a better chance of being accepted in a Liberal Arts program.

Adcoms in combined med programs like to see applicants with a focus in medical field; medical research, submission of abstracts to local state research competitions, EMT certification, doc-shadowing etc.

Try to secure some research apprenticeship during the upcoming Summer. If you have any contacts, now is the time to work the phones!
Good luck!

ic.. thanks for the suggestions...plme was just a thought though...ive seen how competitive it is

Can you retake SATs?
And try practicing before your 2nd round. I suggest timing yourself to work on practice tests. Sometimes, it's more about timing problem that can lower your score. It's not a bad score.......so don't be disheartened. Just not right for Brown.
