like all A's lol

i mean i know this wont be easy and im not even sure if im going to do it yet, but just wanted to see if anyones made it through : )

The semester that I took 6, 3 units classes was the easiest semester I have ever had at a CC. taking a lot of classes does not mean anything. It is type of classes that matter. I am taking 3 classes this semester and am having a much tougher time due to the dificulty of the classes.

Uh…

Yeah, I’m taking seven courses this semester, and one was fast-trak. (Biology).

…it’s not that bad, as long as you’re committed.

depends on the classes and how many units are each
its not hard though

this summer im taking part 2 of Calculus and 4 GE classes to complete my igetc. however i dont think it will be as hard as this semester was (calulus I and physics…)

Right now I’m taking four lit courses, microecon honors, and doing a podcast for the newspaper. I’m doing all fine except the microecon. T___T

ok i would be taking

astronomy -3units
astron lab- 1units
eng 202 H- 4units
calc 1-5 units
soc101-3units
stats-3units
plsc 102-4 units

impossible?
i know the soc 101 class will be easy because ive had the teacher before…im not really worried about it. what i am worried about is calc…because im skipping pre cal to jump into calc one.

have you ever heard of anyone taking classes in the winter and being able to update their app in time with their winter session classes? usually the winter session ends around jan 25th…and i know you have to update your app by jan 30th :/

thats 6 classes… astron being 4 units…

yeah, my friend who goes to Pierce submitted her winter grades. she got into ucla for psych.

anyhoo, that schedules ridic, don’t do it. i think save calc and astronomy lab for another time (labs take up quite a bit of time in your schedule). in fact, unless you realllllllly like astronomy, don’t take it. if you need an easy physical science requirement take up geology or geography, it will be a piece of cake and you’ll be able to focus on your more important classes.

Right now I am taking
Biology 210B (4 units)
Calculus III (4 units)
Physics 196 (5 units)
Chem 201 (3 units)
Chem 201Lab (2 units)
Chinese III (5 units)
Music 100 (3 units)

26 semester units, and I’m pretty sure it’s going to end up all As, finals next week.

It’s doable, and not too hectic if you don’t work. It’s not suicide, unless you aren’t very good at academic stuff.

you’re skipping pre-calc? um good luck…>_>

thanks sopheee that was useful advice…because i need more “piece of cake classes” lol
and king inc i know its six…but the class is mid-day monday/wed lab- t/th night with a diff teacher…so it would feel like seven… if you get what im trying to say lol

njoy, what’s your major?

i also want to add: i took 18.5 units, did well in all my academic classes (we’ll see if I got all As when they post 'em up), but almost failed a stupid PE class. so, you have to consider more than the courseload and make sure everything can fit in your schedule.

sophee im a soc major…aiming for UCLA in the fall of 2010. i wouldnt be skipping calc 1, id be skipping precalc if that sounds any better? lol i have heard though that i would just need to be strong in algebra and the unit circle in trig to do well in calc one. whats your major? are you a 2010 trasnfer too?

I took calc in the 6-week winter session without EVER having taken precalc or trig (even in HS). I got my first UC-transferrable B in that class…I was taking oceanography, too. And working.

missyujin did you take that the winter your uc app was in?

missyujin- well I highly doubt the average and even above average person can accomplish that

njoy:

Yep. And later while updating the winter grades…putting that B on there…it killed me. x_x

lol thanks, AnyaAres. Everyone in that class called me crazy; I’m an English major, could have taken an easier math. :/

missyujin: more power to ya though. might as well do as much as you can if you can right? lol

njoy…did u say you are a soc major? r u taking Calc just because u like it?..most UC’s don’t require it for soc majors
