Suite vs Quad/Triple

I was wondering whats the difference b/w a suite and a quad/triple. Since i have no idea what a suite really entails.....

I don’t know about other schools, but at my school, a suite means you get your very own common area (so you don’t have to go out to the main lounge in your hall) and your own semi-private bathroom (one bedroom is directly connected to the bathroom while the other bedroom(s) isn’t). It’s like having your own apartment minus the kitchen.

Yeah, at my school, suite is similar to what sopranokitty said.

But I’d say the major difference is that they’re describing two different things, suite is the whole dorm-living style while triple describes the room in which you’ll be living. Like at my school, you could be in a triple contained within a suite. However, you could also be living in a traditional hallway style self-contained triple. Triple means you have two roommates and any number to no suitemates at my school… if that makes sense…

At most of the schools I’ve heard of, it was like this.

Quad - 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, no kitchen and living area(has like 2-3 couches and a table)

Triple - 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, no kitchen and living area

Suite - 4 bedrooms 2 bath, with a kitchen and a living area.
2 bedrooms 2 bath
2 bedrooms 1 bath
(There are probably more types too)

So yeah, I think the definitions vary from school to school.

I lived in a suite with no common area. It was four people, two to a room and our own bathroom.
At my current school the suites are two to a room, four people, a living area and a kitchenette. They look really nice, actually.

A suite is usually better. I think of a triple/quad as one big room where in a suite, you may share a room and a bathroom and a living area.

In my school, a triple or quad is the same thing as a large dorm room. You share one room with either 3 or 4 beds, and you use the communal bathroom out in the hall.

Suites for us are much better in term of quality. You live in a 2-bedrooms suite with a common lounge room in the middle. You share the room with a single suite-mate, and the bathroom is right outside the room (but inside the suite room). They give you 2 keys for a suite (one for the suite and one for your room). Looks nicer and we got free cable TV and a fast wired or wireless internet connection.

Nice touch is our campus is 85% wireless, with all classrooms wireless & strong wireless signal outside.
