Hi-
Just received an invitation to the Sullivan Leaders' Day on January 17th, 2015. Has anyone else gotten an invite ? How do you plan to prepare for the day and the timed essay? Damn SAT all over again grrr :))

Also, what do they mean by dressing “smart casual” ?

I got invited as well! I do the IB program, so I’ve done way more timed essays than I should have. I was just going to prepare for it by studying my old environmental science notes, LOL. I’m probably not going to study much though, because there’s not a lot of info on what exactly we’re writing about, or how much we need to be writing. I’m a little nervous because it’s all so vague.

I really don’t know what smart casual means. Wikipedia tells me it means dressing neat but still informal. I’ll probably wear a skirt and simple top or just a dress and a cardigan. I feel like denim is a no go so I don’t really have any pants to wear…

Thanks for responding) Good luck!

I got invited to that too:) I’m excited but nervous at the same time about that timed essay. Especially the part about getting up to give an oral presentation if I’m selected after the essay round. What exactly are we suppose to write about?

I believe it said that we’d be writing about the concept of leadership in a warming world (I think this is global warming)
I also believe that we would be provided articles on the topic though, so we’d have something to write about!
HEY so I was doing some research and I believe these are the articles we’ll be presented with to write our essay!! http://www.seattleu.edu/sullivan/theme/
now you guys can read them and have them understood so you’ll have more time to form your ideas when we all write our essays!
Hey,
Did you guys get a poster with a quote from your personal statement/ supp essay?
Yes
