Summa Prgrms that look "good"

does anyone know about junior statesmen of america summer school (jsa) and if it is good/impressive on an application

If you're applying to one of the top 15 colleges listed on USNEWS, it's probably pretty typical. By the way, spelling "summa prgrms" instead of summer programs doesn't make you cool, lallyfire.

Here's a question I have then...if these programs look pretty typical, how much is it worth doing them?

Would holding a summer job look just as good?

ok cuz i dont know if writing a 20 page research paper will be worth it and 2 hours of sleep a night..for 4 weeks

Does anyone know of People to People? And if so, is it good for a college app?

Summer programs can be good, if you get into competitive ones (usually don't require money). There is a specific portion of the common application that asks for jobs you may have held, probably for most over the summer, so they do value that to an extent. It can show a lot of responsibility.

OMG DO NOT DO PEOPLE TO PEOPLE...i know peopel that did it....its a teen tour lol

I've done it twice, thank you, and it was a life-changing experience for me personally.

I'll still have the personal effects, I was just curious if the importance would carry over to my application.

Sure, any program can be good, you shouldn't do a program just to look good for applications anyway. You should definently include it kevdude, if it has seriously impacted you. You can use the EC space when writing about one or two of your most important ECs and even incorporate it into an essay if you really enjoyed it. :)

Haha, yea, that's what I wrote my essay about. And I think it was damn good. I wrote all about learning about different cultures, learning about myself, and learning how to appreciate other points of view... blah blah blah. It think it came out really well.

yeah peopel to people is just like a teen tour. i did it two years ago...they told us we were going to meet ambassadors and other officials of a high echelon, but we didnt. its an expensive program, but i had the time of my life.

yeah i applied for gov school this summer, but i sorta hope i dont get in because i loved my summer job of 3 years and 4 years would be nice plus i get a hefty, hefty winter bonus so i dont know.

I'm in the process of applying to Alabama Governor's School, but I'm taking Comm. College courses this summer,k and I don't know if taking two weeks off is an option-- I won't even get credit for gov. school.

Try to get into an ivy summer school ...that's what i am going to try to do my junior year...i'm a sophmore now...and sry for writing with three periods...it's a habbit
