Hi Guys-
I am looking into for summer programs/internships for next summer. Next summer I will be a rising senior. I need a program that provides board. I have an interest in children and education (possibly what I want to major in for college) so if there is a program which could give me some experience in that field that would be great.
Does anybody know of summer academic programs/internship programs for teenagers that provide board? I know lots of colleges offer some but there are so many I don’t know where to start! Any information and/or suggestions would be super helpful. Thanks!
@cababe97 - are you looking for a program in the US or internationally?
@cababe97 - just sharing news of 2 programs I know via DK’s friends who have attended…if you are interested in education and/or community leadership, there are summer boarding programs at Northwestern University and Wake Forest. If you are interested in a Study abroad program with community service experience, I am happy to recommend the one my nephews attended overseas. Best wishes - know you will find something amazing! :bz
I’m open to a program in the US or an international program! @Golfgr8 Any recommendations would be super helpful:) Thanks.
@cababe97 - you and others may want to check out the AFS study abroad summer programs and scholarships if you are interested in any international programs. They have programs (language and cultural service) in Europe, South America, and Australia. We know someone who did the program in Argentina over the summer (Human Rights program). Another summer program for rising 10-12th grade students (most if not all are from the US) is the Greek Summer program from the American Farm School. This is about a month-long program of service learning. My nephews worked at a school also. There are opportunities for agricultural-environmental learning, as well. I think their graduation involved climbing Mt Olympus.
