Summer after Senior Year High School

Hey- I just got into Duke ED and I was wondering what I could do with my summer in terms of an internship or a job- I live right near nyc and was hoping to do something there in the political or banking fields. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Id like to know this too, except any internships in NYC , not just political or banking fields.

in terns of getting a decent internship that involves 0 busy work, office duties...
the chances of your getting a banking internship after high school is approximately none; it's practically impossible sorry...
the chance of your getting an internship after freshman year is extremely slim to none
the chances after sophomore year are slim
the chances arter junior year are decent though

thats because internships= full time jobs and the companies don't care about your learning at all, they just want full time employees. why intern a high school/freshman if they wont be working for them next year

dude forget that crap my advise-
drink beer smoke weed watch tv n sleep on the couch

hell yea just chill

try INROADS. They offer summer internships for High School Seniors. I started my internship after high school senior year and ended up getting hired by the same company 4 years later.

By the way, right out of high school, here are some of the things I was able to do.

Build a sales foundation by managing a category in 18 of my customer's stores.

Travel to Cincinnati, Dallas, and Phoenix for training purposes.

Trained on working with Nielson data, developing and executing sales presentations to clients.

Interact with senior managing.

Most of this was even before I turned 18. There ARE companies out there that care about your development. You just have to find the right ones.

Is there an Inroads equilivilant for whites who weren't fortunate enough to be born URMs?

yea, no URM stuff please

nope

it's not like you need any either
