Summer at UT Austin

How does taking summer classes at UT Austin work? I mean do the classes last the whole summer or does it depend. Like for example would M427K differential equations last the whole summer or just one summer session. Would something like E316K last the whole summer or just one summer sesssion. I mean are there many sessions and how does this affect how many classes one can take at UT Austin. Does the number of hours I can take vary depending on the classes I am taking? Also are there dorms available in the summer or not, it be good to know if I would be having to stay somewhere else for the summer.

See what class look like here: [Summer 2012 Course Schedule](Course Schedule | Summer 2012 | Office of the Registrar). I’m not aware of any courses than span both summer terms.

The length of each term can be found here: [Summer 2013 Calendar](http://registrar.utexas.edu/calendars/13summer).

The accelerated schedule in the summer makes courses feel heavier than normal so most students take only 1-2 per term. Dorms are also available for the summer, but living off campus would be much more economical.
