Limit on how many hours can be taken during the summer?

I can't find any information on it but is there a limit to how many credits you can take in residence each summer session?

Like if I wanted to take up to 12 hrs each session is that even possible/allowed?
(a language plus two other classes)

And this is for next summer not this summer.

From the UT website:

“Undergraduates. Except as permitted by his or her academic dean, no undergraduate student may register for more than fourteen semester hours in a twelve-week summer session or for more than eight semester hours in either six-week term. A student whose maximum period of summer registration is nine weeks may not register for more than ten semester hours except as permitted by his or her academic dean.”

But they let me register for 9 credits for second summer session this summer…?

I don’t know why that happened. I’m just quoting the website. Hmmm… wonder why that did happen.
