Summer B Housing?

So, Summer B Housing was emailed to freshman today, and I was placed in Lakeside, which was definitely my third choice. A lot of people have been complaining on facebook about not getting their preferred choice, so for those of you who are doing summer, where were you placed, and was it where you wanted?
And also, is it possible to change your hall?

I actually haven’t received my Summer B assignment at all. I received the e-mail that my Summer B housing was available to view, but when I logged into the Housing Portal, it said, “Students with housing contracts that have not yet been assigned to a room will be notified via email when their room assignment is available to view.”

Is anyone else having this problem?

I got Springs…it wasn’t any of my choices! My choices were Rawlings, Yulee, then Reid…but I put that the “most important preference” for me was getting a double…so they gave me a double suite lol. Not bad, just about $140 difference. :)

The only sort of bad thing is how it’s a bit farther from the central campus than Rawlings/Yulee/Reid…but I guess it’ll force me out of my shell and explore more, right? :P

I’m in the same situation as UFPhysician :(

I got my first choice of Rawlings. The only thing is I got a two room quad. Any idea what that means?

I’ve heard of people getting placed into rooms that didn’t match their Hall OR room type preferences. It sucks, but it happens
I got my first pick luckily lol

I got a double in Rawlings, which I guess is alright because I did want a double, however Rawlings was not in my 3 choices hahah but I dont care… Centrally located and A/C… Good enough for me

Apparently 268 of us have not been assigned at this time…

I don’t understand…they say the people who haven’t been assigned had late housing dates but mine was in April…

Here’s a message from UF Housing if you did want to change(www.facebook.com/ufhousing):

Summer B students interested in requesting a transfer are able to follow the following steps after June 27th, 2012:

  1. Log into myHousing portal (www.my.housing.ufl.edu)
  2. Select ‘Room Transfer’
  3. Enter your information
  4. If a transfer is approved and available you will receive notification that is it approved
Submitting a transfers request does not guarantee that your request will be granted. Transfers are based on available space.

With that being said, you’re only there for 6 weeks - just have fun, enjoy campus, and rock out some classes. It’ll go by fast! :)

I got my preference with springs, my brother was their for his bachelors and graduate degree and told me to list it as my first preference (although he said I would likely never get it). Im in Broward for the fall though, which works for me since its right across from the Arch building.
