<p>Hey everyone. What's the difference between the Brain Basics: From Biology to Behavior and the Neuroscience in Health and Disease course? Which is more rigorous? Thanks you for help.</p>

<p>It seems that the Brain Basics is…well, more basic. But it has more of a research component. I’m not sure if I’d like to take an easy class with research then a hard class without it.</p>

<p>a general one about summer@brown courses: a friend of mine took one last year and said it was awesome, but she said that most courses were only 2 hours a day, and then didn’t have a huge outside work component to it. i was on the website myself a few days ago, and in looking at all of the courses, it does look like most of them are really short. anything that’s two hours long, then maybe an hour of homework, may not be very rigorous in the grand scheme of things (when you have hours left in a day with nothing to do, and you’re paying a lot of money)</p>

<p>Hi, last summer I went to Summer at Brown. I took the Intensive English Course that was only for International Students. This course had 6 hours of classes per day and I had lot of homework.
You can take 2 pre-college courses so you wouldn’t have just 3 hours of classes per day. I met students from the pre-college courses and they actually had a lot of homework.</p>

<p>i emailed the summer at brown staff about taking more than one course: they hinted around it being very expensive (but they didn’t say the actual cost), and they said they don’t recommend it because “it’ll be too much work” or something.</p>
<p>it sounds like the people who were happiest at summer@brown took a course that was more than 3 hours a day. im probably going to end up doing the leadership institute, which im really excited about, and im not too worried because they meet for 5-6 hours a day, and then get homework afterward.</p>
