Summer Classes. Will it boost my GPA?

Hi I'm a sophomore in high school and my gpa is a 3.52! which is pretty bad I'm ranked 126 out of 575 students. I was wondering if taking a summer class will boost my gpa. Say I took physics pre-ap over the summer then junior year I could take ap chemistry and then senior year I could get and extra year of science. so will having that extra year in science boost my gpa or will it not affect it at all?

In my school district, summer classes count towards GPA. If the summer classes you’re thinking about taking are put on your transcript, then I’m fairly certain they would affect your GPA. I’m not entirely sure, though. Your situation may not be the same as mine. It would be best to ask your guidance counselor to check.

In my school, summer courses don’t count towards my GPA so every school is different. Check with your GC though.

Ok thank you!

In my school district, ALL outside classes hurt your WGPA. So make sure you know for sure before you “waste” your summer “boosting” (I.e. dropping) your rank. I speak from experience.

This depends entirely on your school.
