If you take AP courses over the summer, or any courses, can they be reported on your school high school transcript and boost your high school GPA?
I have the same question. I asked my GC and she said only classes that are not offered at my high school could be counted into my GPA. Otherwise they go on a separate transcript.
That question is specific to your school; ask your GC.
I Agree with skieurope talk to your GC because many schools have different policies. At my school summer coursesl for enrichment doesn’t go on your HS transcript or towards your GPA. However Summer Courses for remedial purposes go towards your transcript.
If I do an AP class or competition math class at CTY or something do you think it would count towards my high school GPA? Would CTY even raise it though because my school GPA system runs on a 100 point basis
You really have to talk to your school.
In many schools, those grades would not be factored into your GPA-- that is, if you got credit at all, it would be pass/fail. The classes, in that case, would show up on your transcript, but the grade would not.
Of course, in some schools, the grades would show up and be factored in, and in many schools, you wouldn’t even be able to get credit for it at all. Some schools might also want you to take a school-written exam if you want credit.
Essentially-- talk to your school because they might allow it, but I doubt that the classes would be able to serve as a GPA booster, especially because you are on a 100 point scale.
