I am considering going to summer college in summer 2013. I am currently a freshman, and I understand a few universities have programs for rising sophomores (i.e. Brown University, Boston University, etc.). But, I'm not sure how the application process works. I believe I am qualified to go to summer college (I participate in Model United Nations and Model Congress at my school, I am apart of the school band, and I frequently volunteer).

Are these summer colleges highly selective? Or is anyone who shows interest accepted? My top choices are Brown University and Boston University, but I was wondering if there is a low rate of acceptance. Please help!

They don’t keep it a secret. [How to Apply to Summer Session Credit Courses | Brown University](http://brown.edu/ce/pre-college/apply-credit.php)
IMHO, “Courses fill quickly” plus a $10k price tag = not nearly as selective as they’d like you to think.

“plus a $10k price tag”

ZOMG! I really don’t understand how people actually afford this stuff.
All the free programs are too selective for me and all the non-selective programs are too expensive for me. It sucks.

Most of them have need-based financial aid. You have to apply early, though, because there’s a finite pool of aid money.

They always make the financial aid sound so limited. They make it sound like they’d give you $10 and act like they’re helping.

Thanks everyone for your help, but do the majority of people who apply get accepted?

Google also spins in a circle when you type “do a barrel roll,” which I find more entertaining than I really should.
