<p>This is awfully hard to answer. CTY is competitive, but not super-competitive. It’s a good thing to do, though. What summer are we talking about?</p>
<p>Kids usually age out of CTY at about 16, so it is hard to see it competing with an “internship” for a kid’s time. CTY is a fabulous social and intellectual experience for the right kid. How it looks on a resume would not be my criteria for choosing it.</p>
<p>During the Junior year summer - evaluating summer internship vs completing a course or a program (like EPGY Stanford) … Which is more beneficial from college admission point of view.</p>
