SUMMER DANCE INTENSIVES??? r/o if you're a dancer!

Hey! I'm a really intense ballerina and I've been to summer dance intensives every single summer since I was 12. Now I'm 18 and I'll be headed off to college fall 2010, and I need to find a summer intensive for my age group :/ harder than it sounds. Most intensives are geared towards high school students. Anbody know anything good? I've heard about ABT collegiate and San Francisco Dance Conservatory, but I don't know any other ones. Do you know if Barnard has anything? It'd be nice to get some credit...
thanks!

You should be careful about doing summer things for credit. If you get credit after you’ve graduated from HS, it may complicate things with your undergraduate status. You might seem like a transfer.

But, anyway, I did one when I was 14 at Cincinnati Ballet, which has a pretty good company. I don’t know what they have for people over 18, but you might want to check that out.

A girl I know did one at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. I’m not sure about programs there for your age group either.

Sorry I couldn’t be more help.

I’m not sure if you’re referring to Barnard College by this, but if you are, I’m honestly not sure if they do. Your best bet would be to go to their website and look up the information you need. On the other hand, if you were looking for programs in the New York City area, you might consider the Juilliard School: they offer a Summer Dance program that is highly prestigious. It’s very selective too.
