Hey. I am a freshman at johns hopkins and I am look for an intership to do this upcoming summer. I am having a hard time finding internships that will accept people who have only completed freshman year. I am starting to worry that its getting too late. Does anyone know of any internships or can give me some good tips? I think that I would like to do research, not really work in a company (I am majoring in engineering)

I am also a freshman desperately looking for summer stuff. Go to your college's career center. They usually will be able to help you find something (or alternatives), write a resume, etc. If you're looking for something in an area you're studying, ask your professors. Ask any connections you or your parents might have. Also, look into doing research on campus. I know my college has a program for undegrads (including freshmen) to be paid research assisstants for professors over the summer. Also look into organizations like Americorps, which have service type internships over the summer.

Also, I was wondering if anybody could give me the date when most internship applications are due. Thanks!

Many internship applications seem to be due around December 31st.
