Summer job

Originally I had a couple of summer camps/programs at UofM that I applied to. So I did my application and stuff. I asked my science teacher to do my recommendation letter and he said he would send my stuff. My friend and I didn't receive any email for a while, so we emailed the camp coordinators. They said they never got the application. We asked my science teacher and he said he would send it this weekend. Two weeks later, the camp coordinators still say they didn't receive an application. My other friend, who asked his biology teacher from last year, got his application accepted. My biology teacher retired this year.
I'm actually not that surprised. First semester my science teacher didn't put up any grades online until the night before, my grade was two dashes until then.

So I tried to look for a summer job and I haven't found anything yet. I live in the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area, near UofM. Are there any jobs that aren't reserved for college students here? Where are some places I can look?

With a large number of students gone for the summer, start looking at jobs they would work at. In a college town like Ann Arbor, where there are more students than residents, there will be plenty of gaps to fill when the school year ends.

Places to look would be fast food restaurants, grocery and convenience stores, and movie theatres. Restaurants may also be looking for waiters, but that’s not exactly easy work.

Make sure you start jumping on them as soon as possible.
