Summer JOBS/Research options/Medical related activities

Hey, so I'm a high school senior off to college next fall and I'm trying to learn and have a new medical experience this summer, but not finding any opportunities anywhere...

does anyone know anything I can do BESIDES volunteering in a hospital/shadowing a Dr. because I have done this too many times already and want to do something totally new...

also are there any research options for high school seniors that aren't undergrad yet in college? I know many deadlines have passed?

does anyone know how to become a ER tech OR work in a lab or something medically related? At this point, I dont care if it's paid, I just want to do something useful this summer...

just relax man, its going to be a great summer
im sure you will have tons of experience in and after medical school

go on vacation somewhere?
try something new?
im sure you've been doing medical related activies all of hs, you can afford a summer to your self

also its too late to apply to most research programs but you should be able if you really want to volunteer somewhere maybe for red cross or something
you might meet some interesting people

call up places ask if you can volunteer

You'll have plenty of summers to do something meaningful and medical-related. Get a summer job so you'll have your own spending money freshman year, hang out with friends, sleep, go see all the summer blockbusters, etc. You may not get another summer like this one for a very long time - enjoy it.

yeah I know I'm gonna spend time with my high school friends since I won't see them for a while, but I seriously want a JOB because I need MONEY for all the COLLEGE EXPENSES and I will relax trust me, I have had so much relaxing summers before, and think I should help my parents with all the costs

and a medical job would just be beneficial for resume building and I would rather do something medical then ordinary...as Meredith says it, wouldn't you rather be "extraordinary" lol

DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO BE A PHLEBOTEMIST OR ER TECH OR ANY OTHER IDEAS ??????

dont worry too much about research...you can do that junior/senior year of college. thats when you actually get to do meaningful, engaged research for 12+ hours a week and can write a report on it. i dont think you need much more than that.

i would just get a job...gets you money and makes you a bit more mature because quite frankly its odd for a kid to have never worked a day in his life.

lol I have worked as a pharm tech before but its so hard to get a job like that now since all the college students are coming back and asking for hours, but yeah I really want to work since I will get bored doing nothing all day ......

ideas?

bump........
