Summer Jobs

hello,

I'm over eighteen, but i cant seem to find a job, anywhere. Ive applied to about 15 places, but no phone call has come. I've even applied to the most remedial jobs, and ive gotten nothing. I have no work experience, other than some volunteer research. Whenever i apply for a fastfood restaurant, they always ask, "do you have any fastfood experience?" and im forced to say "no."

How do you go about getting a job? What are some of the problems?

What types of jobs do you recommend for the summer?

thanks

Don't wait for a phone call. Go back, in person, and ask if they've looked at your resume. The squeaky wheel gets the grease, as they say.

Try and use any connections you have.

yeah, thanks guys, i've been calling them in regards to the status of my application, i dont do a resume, only the application. any more tips would be appreciated.

Yeah, the best way to get a job.. is to see if your connections or friends can land you one.

I got my job by (i hate to say this) being "Asian"... I had no restaurant experience and barely any working exp, but the Japanese place hired me right on the spot (not many Asian ppl where I live). So im a waiter now :p. After getting the job, tons of ppl with experiences applied but so far nothing. Oh yeah, if you live near me.. I could help you lol..we need more waiters/waitresses. :)

I got my job 2 years ago because I applied for a camp and they have a harder time hiring male counselors. That got me my camp job this year along with my strong science background. I got my retail job because my friend works at the same store. If you have friends who aren't rich pricks who dont need to work, you should be able to get some sort of job. It's a little too late now though.
