I'm currently a sophomore and I'd like to begin to look into summer programs. Because of a heavy commitment to band, I will not be able to attend any summer programs Junior year and nor will I be able to attend any summer programs this year that extend into August (sucks, I know, but band is something I am extremely passionate about). Does anyone know of any internships/research programs/camps that are available to current sophomores? I live in the East if that helps anything.
I've looked into Duke's TiP, and I was wondering if anyone knows how prestigious that program is? Duke has always been my top choice too.

TIP programs can be a good idea if you qualify and if you find something you are interested in. You should look for summer opportunities that help extend or deepen interests you already have if you can. A program that helps you look further into a career you might be considering, for example.
