Summer Plans

Semper, it's because they're in the process of reactivating the program. CST & SERE haven't existed at the Academy for several years. The PTB decided to bring it back for 2011 this summer, but since none of our upperclassmen had gone through it, we essentially have no CST-qualified cadre. Thus, they put a few cadets through it last summer to prepare them to be cadre for this summer. There still aren't enough though, so only 500 cadets from the c/o 2011 will be participating this summer. That, of course, will be more than enough to teach it next year, so it will be mandatory for everyone in 2012 and beyond (at least until the pendulum swings back the other way). :)

Hey PETKO, did you actually get the full schedule with assigned periods or just what you have? Cause last night on CAMIS all I saw was what I got. It didnt say(not that I know of) which period each was.

I saw the same thing on CAMIS last night. I got an e-mail from my AMT today saying that he had our finalized schedules. Check with your permanent party - if they don't have them already, they probably will soon.

Oh Yeah......

I'm so ready to be done with classes for 6 weeks, play some golf, and get up in the mountains to do some real training. And I'll be cadre for you 2011 and 2012ers who have CST so i look foward to being out there with you.....and having some fun with ya'll

"HUA for leave and AETC this summer! (AETC - running enlisted basic training in Lackland with MTIs)" - eagle

Yeah, there's a 3-dig in my squad (24) that's doing it too. Sounds like fun.

raimius, space is also handed to squads that suck in rating (aka my squad). A lot of people with good OPA's got Space too, and a bunch of IC's got Wing Support/BCT prep.

As for the daily schedule, some have more "relaxing" time than others...for instance, BCT prep only lasts for a few hours every day. Same with Space, from what I've heard.
