Summer program ideas?

I'm really looking for a summer program that I could apply for, but isn't so selective that there's very little chance of me being accepted. I love competitive application processes, but I feel too intimidated by TASP to apply. I'm still looking for something with some prestige, but I guess I'm just not going after the top 3 or whatnot.
My strong suit is not math or science, yet most of the more well respected programs seem to be based soley on those two subjects. But, don't get me wrong, I love science, mainly chemistry; but I'm definitely not in the top of my state, or even region.
I would love something like TASP, just learning all kinds of subjects and improving my leadership skills.

Anywho, I'm sorry for making this so long, but I would love some help or recommendations!

There isn’t much info about “backups” for TASP, but here’s what I gleaned from the web:

How about Ivy Scholars at Yale? ([Yale Young Global Scholars Program for Outstanding High School Students | Yale Young Global Scholars](http://globalscholars.yale.edu/))

There’s also Clark Scholars that isn’t just humanities, it’s mostly known for science, but you can do a project relating to the humanities there. ([TTU Clark Scholars Program](http://www.clarkscholars.ttu.edu/))

There are summer programs for every discipline and at every level of selectivity - and cost. If money is no object you have a ton of options.

Which grade are you in?

^^ I would assume OP is a rising senior, if he/she is looking into TASP

Oh, sorry! Haha I forgot to mention that I’m currently a Junior. :)

@quidditchcat - Thank you for the help(: I’ll look into those

Cost is somewhat important to me, my family is mid to low middle class, and we wouldn’t be able to afford something too extravagent. :)

For alumni of the Yale Global Scholars program, what was the focus of your answer/topics you discussed (i.e. was the essay very personal or more generic)? I’m not sure how to approach this essay so any help would be MUCH appreciated.

Thanks so much!
