Summer Programs Planning for next year?

So, I found out about the entire "go to some competitive summer programs to make yourself look good for colleges while also enjoying your summer in fun ways" thing a little late, so I didn't get a chance to apply to anything this year. Since next year in my junior year and my most critical year, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for summer programs that I could take? I want to get a head start in planning so I'll be doubly prepared for my incoming junior year.
I know I should do something I want to do. So, I've been searching around for a while, and I was wondering if there are any somewhat competitive/prestigious summer programs offered for aspiring veterinarians/animal lovers. I've found many that are regular summer programs where you pay a large fee and enjoy a week or two, but I also want to try applying for something that I could get rejected in (sounds kind of weird I know). I just want to kind of get a face of reality I guess. So far I've only found research programs not any specific animal sciences/care programs. So if anyone had any ideas that'd be great :)
Thank you!

Bump (10char) anyone?

3 weeks long. A bit expensive IMO ($6k). Not sure how competitive it is. But the programs sound cool!

Oh those do sounds pretty interesting. Especially the Captive Raptor Management. Thanks for the suggestion!

Honestly, I have no idea if this program is prestigious/competitive, or if it is in your area but it looks neat! I’m taking the STEM route, so I didn’t apply to it, but it’s worth looking at.

^^
That’s alright at this point I just want to widen my options for next summer. So thank you! It sounds fun and worth trying out for.

There can’t be just two…

Maybe you should title the thread “Animal Science Summer Programs” or something like that… or do a Google search and try different key words, you’ll get answers much faster than waiting for people to answer. I haven’t seen many people talk about animal science summer programs on CC. Don’t be too picky and think, ‘This program isn’t prestigious enough because no one on CC is talking about it’ or ‘The college offering the program isn’t prestigious enough’. Just look at the quality of the program itself.
