There is one called NSCL, extremely easy to get in, costs about 3000 dollars.

I’m very, very interested in this. I’m hoping that a spate of UK-US ones break out because of the current “special relationship” shtick. :P

Are there any more general international ones, taking applicants from countries outside of the US?

Hi!
The Yale Ivy Scholars Program accepts applicants internationally . Its pretty challenging, but there are guest speakers who are former ambassadors or have worked in the White House. You get lectures from the Yale faculty about international relations and run a simulation (sort of like model UN). For me, it was very rewarding. Here’s a link if anyone is interested:

Hi sorry to revive this old thread but I’m super duper interested in doing International Relations and I want to apply early to Yale next year. I already know about the Ivy Scholars program, I’m applying right now Is there anywhere else I can apply to?

^
I second this. Though I’m just a freshman, international affairs and politics have always intrigued me, and I have done multiple research projects about the UN and Foreign Service to further my understanding. If anyone knows any good programs that go to Eastern Asia (My main interest. China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, etc. I know a beginner’s amount of Chinese and Japanese, but saw several other programs I’m not sure are good or not). My main concern is price of the program. Either cheap programs or programs with scholarships would be great :)

Is JSA a good international relations summer program? the one at Georgetown?

Does anyone know if the Americans for Informed Democracy Global Scholars program at American University is any good?

Anyone know anything about the international relations program at USC?

Harvard summer school offers an international relations, international law, introduction to political philosophy and other related courses.

I would like to try NSLI for next summer. It sounds really cool. Anybody with experience?

What about international relations programs that take you abroad into Paris? I really like the sound of the Tufts Summit program, but I can’t find any info on it for the Summer of 2014 dates, or if they even plan of doing it this summer. I really want more than a study abroad/immersion program, I’d like to also study international relations. Anyone know of any programs to look into?

P.S. I plan on majoring in IR and minoring in French

If your are intrested in sport so you defienetly go to the La quinta Golf club.Because you want to a international relation so these opportunitty gives a connect to a international palm desert golf club event.

EastCoast, there is a Tufts program on IR in our town, Talloires (France). We know the prof who runs it and we think she is terrific. You should be able to find it by googling with the name of the town. Send me a message if this doesn’t work.

Applied to USC’s IR and plan on attending. I know it’s probably not prestigious by any means because it’s expensive but I had friends who went and said the professor at IR is just incredible and beyond words.
@KingshukR WOW, I am a freshman interested at IR too but have no idea how to do reseraches on my own. Any advices you can kindly give?
Try mysummeradvisor.com There are lots of programs in international relations. (It’s under “Liberal Arts”). People to People offers travel programs that often include meeting with members of parliament, etc. If you are interested in a particular part of the world, look for travel programs. Some include community service. Also, look at the pre-college programs at large schools. There will often have a class in international relations.
@watchmesoar @emorylegacy I’m thinking of applying for NSLIY! How were your summer experiences? I would love to talk to you guys about it
I know this is an older thread now but Carleton College has a program called the Summer Quantitative Reasoning Institute where one can focus on Political Science/International Relations.
I just attended this summer and I have to say my experience was absolutely wonderful and would recommend anyone to check out the program. Also, if you don’t care really care too much for math, no need to worry. Math is not really used. Being familiar with statistics is quite helpful, but is definitely not necessary.
