SSP is open to international applicants, however, the deadline to apply for 2013 was in March.

Most deadlines have already passed, actually.

I’m not so advanced that I could apply to a program like PROMYS but I want to get better. Is there any programs that enhance my knowledge in Mather science? ~Freshman in high school. Near New York City.

Does anyone have any info on U Maryland’s pre-college summer engineering program?

Summer Programs | Undergraduate Recruitment and Scholarship Programs

My son is a sophmore this year. He’s stong in math but not sure about a potential major. He wants to explore engineering to see if that’s something he might pursue.
The program is one week long, and is limited to 20 students.

My older son went to the ECOES summer program at Stevens in Hoboken last summer.
(also pre-engineering)
It was a 2 week program and about 100 students in the session.

We’ve already seen Stevens and have never been to U Maryland, so was thinking about visiting someplace new. Any info on the U Maryland program would be appreciated.

@Gwenyland I applied for the USC program with financial aid as well!
They offered a $1100 aid and we requested $1800. I think I’ll probably be going to the program since it seems pretty nice

Does anyone know of summer opportunities for students entering their sophomore year who are interested in engineering?

I would like to apply to a summer program, are there any still taking applications?

MITES is a good program.

P.S. Beware of programs that make you pay!

What do you guys think of Clark Scholars? It’s pretty selective since it’s free and you actually get a stipend for going, but how does it compare to RSI/MITES/TASP? Sorry if this has already been discussed, I’m new to this thread…

It is quite selective with under 20 seats each year.

Oh, and what about SAMS? They’re selective, but their course material is pretty basic compared to other programs. Differential calculus and SAT prep…

You pay for SAMS right?

No, it’s free.

If it’s a free, residential program, chances are it’s rather good. However I am not familiar with it.

Well okay thanks guys!

Apply soon to anywhere! Times ticking.

No I applied to both and others already, I was just trying to decide where to go :)

I’d recommend Clark from the ones you mentioned, but depends on your interests :)

Thank you, that’s what I was leaning toward too!
