@SugarSmarts I don’t know what grade you are in, but Yale Young Global Scholars has an excellent program, if you want to apply there. They have 1-week Institute programs at Georgetown for International Relations and Law.
anyone applying to HSHSP and sending a list of their extracurriculars?
new to this thread, I’m applying to Simons research, clark scholars, MIT’s women’s technology, Wharton’s leadership in the business world, garcia, and tasp
any other suggestions? I want to apply to more business/humanities programs, but everyone is mostly talking about stem stuff
The only comment I have is that you appear to be applying to program’s based solely upon perceived prestige. Hard to get accepted to any one of them when it is not done from actual love of the material. It’s not the program but what you actually achieve at the program that matters. If you don’t enjoy working 80 hours a week on your project at Garcia, for example, you’re wasting your and your mentor’s time.
I agree with @Falcon1. Just adding one more comment… All of the programs mentioned above require essay(s) that need to be more or less tailor to each program. It would be time consuming to produce high quality essays for that many highly selective programs.
Not to mention getting all the different types if recommendations done that you’ll need.
Are there any prestigious, advanced programming camps out there?
Any suggestion for Sophomore? Looking for very competitive science camp.
Below is a list of music summer camps/programs I’ve compiled as my son interested in studying Music Composition this summer, hopefully the list will help someone else! The UNSCA music composition intensive is currently his first choice - does anyone have any experience with the UNSCA program?

programming? Go to USACO camp.
Otherwise: Go to MOP or go to jail.
How is the Summer school in Cornell? Any one? Trying to get into Cornell for college is Cornell summer school the best choice?
does Gov School matter for Ivy League apps??
@stressedout18 @net22 USACO camp is great if you’re into CS, but you need to know algorithms pretty darn well. MOP is pretty much the best for math, and the national camps for physics/chem/bio are the best for their subjects. Of course it isn’t trivial to make anyone of these, but one year of serious study will put you in contention.
I think Math based summer camps would look good on college applications. One of the reasons why I want my child to go into one.

How do colleges view counselor in training programs (for incoming 10th graders) and then possibly being a full counselor as an incoming 11th grader. Do colleges value the work experience instead of just spending money? Also, does anyone have any experience with CIT programs in the hamptons?
I’m looking for a government/political based program? Foreign affairs, law, government, etc. Anybody know anything?
Is Yale Young Global Scholars PLE (Politics, Law, Economics) a prestigious program that looks good on a college resume? Please let me know because I’m attending. Also, I’m going to Economics for Leaders at University of Chicago. How about that one? Thank you.
When did you get the reply? I applied but still haven’t heard anything, getting worried
Does anyone know what the admit rate is for HCCSSiM?
