@scenicstars that program seems awesome! I haven’t been able to find anything about applications or anything like that, especially in my state (Fl). But I am going to look more into it. Thank you very much!
@PianoWinterfell
Thank you! I have been extremely reluctant to do these programs because I have seen that they are very expensive, and I currently take college classes (dual enrolled at CC), so I don’t know if the investment would be worth it if I were to do it. It would be awesome to take classes at dream universities though!
@Chocolate-Taco I have fallen in love with that program! I have been dying to find a research program in the humanities/ social sciences area. I do not think I am the most qualified applicant, but it doesn’t hurt to try. Thank you for the suggestion! Do you happen to know anything about pricing and FA? I read that it was about $6k, which is extremely expensive, but they might have great FA.
@LagBeach101 Are you still looking? Also state or region are you looking in? Many programs for summer have deadlines that have passed or are coming up soon. MITES/MOSTEC @ MIT and SAMS @ Carnegie Mellon closed already.
Great thread of information here. Thx.
Which program looks the best on college apps:
UF SSTP
IOWA SSTP
SIP at the National Institute of Health
Boston University RISE
can someone pm me or reply to this post
thanks!
I’m pretty sure most of the deadlines for the programs above have already passed
I have already applied to these. I received an acceptance letter from UF SSTP. I have applied for SIP, but have not asked for recommendation letters yet. Should I even ask the teachers for NIH? Is NIH more or less prestigious than UF SSTP, and should I commit to UF SSTP or should I wait for other acceptance letters.
hey there! i’m having a hard time finding good and cheap Midwest summer programs about STEM (primarily the technology aspect of STEM, like engineering/computer science/programming/robotics). could anyone please suggest any that cost under $1.5k?
I am wondering, in terms of college apps, which summer program looks better: Bank of America Student Leaders or TASP. I have only made it to the interview round so far, so of course, there’s a great possibility I won’t get into either. If I do I will go with whichever one I am more interested in, but in terms of prestige?
@malaalenase TASP
any one know any good research or science based ones with the deadlines not having passed
Boutta apply to UC davis YSP 5 days before the deadline @anonymous522083
I was going too but it was too late notice for reccomendors
What do you think of UPenn Neuroscience Research Academy offered summer course?
http://www.sas.upenn.edu/summer/programs/high-school/application
- How difficult is it to get accepted to this summer course for high school students? They have listed a lot of criteria on their website (given above).
- Will doing this course help in college admission is some form? I know just doing the course alone won't guarantee admission to UPenn or any Ivy college. But given that you need to spend more than $8000 for 3 weeks course, I hope it helps.
@minzhaoo i’d say upenn’s programs are quite overpriced. they probably won’t help your admissions unless you take a course with credit but definitely consider options that don’t have such extravagant costs.
In interested in math, MathPath is an excellent program for 11-14 y.o.
Does anybody have recommendation for a chemistry summer camp? All set for this year; getting an early start for next.
I just ran into a international relations program, called AMP global scholar
I attended AMP Global Scholar two years ago! Just wrote a post about it actually:

Looked great on my college applications/resume!
