alsi I've been reading a lot of the FAQ's here and I see a thread about AP classes not counting at some med schools --what are AP's ? advanced placement HS courses ? Thanks MD

If he’s looking for medically-related activities that cost nothing, volunteering at a hospital and shadowing doctors is one way to go (which, from what I see at least, can be just as beneficial as some fancy program).

Yes, AP classes are Advanced Placement classes that allow you to get college credit for whatever class it may be just as long as you score high enough. A good enough score is different for different colleges, and some colleges won’t accept certain AP credit. This also applies to certain medical schools.

I don’t mind to spend some cash but the budget would be more like a grand or two. not 6-10 K however. thanks MD
