Hey! I’m a soph. in high school and I’m thinking about summer programs for this upcoming summer. I’m interested in psychology, pre-med, or a program in English/creative writing. I was wondering which programs are highly selective and carry prestige for college admissions. I’ve heard of MITES and TASP but those are for after junior year so i was j/w if there were any good programs for summer before junior year that would help a lot w/ college admissions! Thanks for the help!

Carnegie Mellon has a lot of great programs for rising juniors...APEA (Advanced Placement/Early Admission), SAMS (Summer Academy for Math and Science), etc.

I went to Cornell's Summer College and did the Sophomore Program called "Body, Mind, and Health: A Historical Perspective for Future Medical Professionals." It was basically American medical history. I thought it was really interesting and fun, and I'm interested in pre-med as well. I'm not sure as to how prestigious it was, but I did get college credit (and an A), and plenty of people did not get As, which means that they either grade harder or are not very selective. Either way, it was a good experience, and if you have any questions about it, I'd be happy to answer them.
