Summer Reading Project?

Hello,

I am a Fall 2013 transfer student, and I received a couple days ago this package containing so-called "summer reading project" book. I recall doing a similar thing for my previous school which no one but a couple other people (including me) in my discussion group actually read it... I REALLY don't want to do this s**t again, so, what's gonna happen if I just ignore it? Is my OL going to bust through my dorm room door :)?

By the way, I am not planning on taking first-year seminar. (After all, I am not a f***ing first year!)

I personally found the summer reading projects to be also a waste of time even when I was a freshman and I think this is even more silly for a transfer like you who already went through this.

Back in the day, I knew plenty of freshmans who skip this all together so I think you’ll be fine too if you don’t wish to attend. I think the only ‘benefit’ of attending is if you want to hand in your summer reading essay to be entered into a chance of winning a prize…or at least when I was freshman that was the incentive for doing this.

Don’t do it. Not worth the time or the paper. You get nothing out of it and it will never matter.

The summer reading project is BS. Spark note it (or something similar) if you can.
