summer reading unfinished

ahh I still haven't finished reading the summer book!! I was traveling when the book was delivered to my house so I only got it a few days ago (not trying to make excuses) but is it a big deal if I don't finish it? I'm going to try but I dont think ill be able to.

Don't worry about it.. I read the summer reading book last summer and I regret it!

Agreed, I wouldn't fret about it. If you really feel the need to know what's going on in the book, just go online, look at a couple of summaries to get the general idea, or skim the book.

from what i hear, they really don't care so don't fret about it. I think it will be used once at an optional discussion

personally i liked the book though, so i say keep reading it just to read it

The book is not to be stressed over. The idea behind it is that you now have something everyone in the class has hopefully read and can discuss. If you don't finish it no worries.

Also, you regret reading a book dukie011? That sounds kind of silly.

I can't say I regretted reading my sister's keeper but I didn't really like it as a piece of literature insert snobby voice

haha...the purpose of the summer reading was to give everyone a common experience, or some BS like that. But the most common experience ends up being, "Yeah, I didn't read that book either..."

I read 200 pages in like 3 hours and so, and felt that it was a total waste of time.

Decent story, check
Decent writing, check
Care???
Message???

I heard you guys actually had a good book this year.

Yeah...we probably did. Though I wouldn't know.

haha thanks for the responses guys

For the record I didn't read my book. I honestly tried and tried but the book we had, My Sister's Keeper, was just something that I could not bring myself to read. Read it if you want to and if it seems interesting; you won't be punished if you don't.

You could probably (read: will) meet more people (which is the whole purpose of the book) by walking up to someone and asking "So, did you not read [book title] either?"
