Is a required Summer Reading for Yale?

As I recall last year DS students were expected to have read, or at least have been well into, The Illiad, The Crito, and selections from Herodotus, for the first week of classes, but beyond that I cannot say for sure.

One aspiring DSer aspired a little too hard and ended up reading all of the Iliad, as was asked, and continued by reading all of Herodotus’ The Histories and every last one of Plato’s Complete Works.

Avoid the tragic irony of reading everything but your course syllabus.

Not required but probably of great interest to pre frosh
