Nopes. I got a letter about the program and was promised the admissions packet in a couple of weeks.

Same here~

I graduate May 21st!

Congratulations to all invited! Could you please share why you think you made it? S has super strong science curriculum and also 2 summer internships, one in BME and science paper with his name as one of co-authors was just submitted ( though I don’t think he mentioned it in app) and he was not selected. No doubts that it was fair selection with certain criteria used, I am just curious if some people selected have some extraordinary accomplishments in research/ bme etc.

Well, I kinda cured cancer so…(joking)

I probably got in because I had a really excellent letter of recommendation from the professor that I had been working/volunteering under for three years as well as displaying competent knowledge (I hope so :-D) of the research that I was doing. (I worked with plant genetics if you were curious, nothing really ground breaking).

Senior graduation May 17th over here! :-D

@RyupAK lmaoo^^

@Dad2011-Ohio, I dont know why, but it could be because of my recommendations as well. I didnt read them, but I know they were beyond amazing! It probably doesnt have a lot to do with the research accomplishments that you made, but rather your experience… then again what do i know :/

I’m so jealous of all of you! Honestly, my graduation is defintely the latest: June 24th…
and guess what prom is the day before that…

I was in the program last year and not all those accepted to the program have had research experience. They are particularly looking for students excited for bio research. That can mean two years of research experience with a paper under your belt, or, like me, it can mean zero experience and only one AP science course. I believe the essays are very important in conveying the student’s desire to make an impact through research. The acceptance rate for this program is very similar to ivy league college acceptance rates; therefore, very qualified people will be rejected by no fault of their own. I wish your son good luck for admission to WashU.
