@Micc It’s the Yale Summer Program in Astrophysics. https://yspa.yale.edu/ The application deadline is March 4. It was founded by an SSP alum and is on friendly terms with SSP. A lot of aspects of the two programs are similar, but there are some differences. If someone is interested in astrophysics, I’d recommend applying to both since they are both selective.
is it expected that you have an third optional recommender? and do all recommenders have to be from the high school you attend or can they be from outside math/science teachers? (from programs i currently attend)
When do decisions usually come out?
@aks1118 Decisions came out last year on April 11th. There is no set date, but I assume decisions come out around then.
ahh 3 more days until applications are due!! i feel like there’s a lot less people on this year’s thread compared to years past?? idk
Does anyone know the time of the deadline? Is it 11:59 PM PST or EST?
@Kanger0o I asked one rec from a high school teacher, one from an outside teacher, and one from a research mentor
@aks1118 thanks !!!
just wondering, for those that are applying, what are your stats?
The deadline is in PST.
Should achievements be listed in a particular personal essay question?
What strand is everyone applying to? I’m doing Biochemistry
I’m applying to biochemistry too!
Applying to biochem! But it looks extremely selective, so with me being a sophomore, I’m not getting my hopes up, haha!
I hope we all get in! @dsfjlciodsfljk even if you don’t get in this year, I know that a lot of sophomores that don’t get in the first time get in during junior year so don’t give up!
Hope they’ll admit more sophomores for biochem this year. there was none last year!
Does anyone know if we’re expected to include supplemental material/what we should include?
i guess just extracurriculars u didnt get to put in the short answers
I uploaded a resume
I uploaded a research paper I wrote for a program last summer
